About me
I am a Grief/Loss/Trauma Expert, Board Certified Grief Coach, P.A.I.L. Advocate, and Dual-Certified Bereavement Doula with years of experience specializing in the grief journey. I decided to dedicate my time and energy to grief work after losing my daughter (Carolyn) and then, a year later, my son (Stephen). Several years later, I lost my talented sister (Carletta). I had no idea a few years later, I would be planning funeral services for my beautiful mother (Ethel) and then my grandson (Shakir).
I encountered complicated grief after experiencing so many losses, and I dealt with my grief unhealthily. I lost my spiritual foundation, standing on the Word of Christ. However, once I decided to reach out for help, I was given a safe space to outpour my emotions and thoughts. More importantly, I called on Christ to take charge of my life. At this point, the healing began. I will always grieve my losses; however, I learned how to manage my grief and begin to rejoice and live life fully again.
I value my client-worker relationship and believe that such a relationship is the beacon in the healing process. Each individual is unique and has their way of grieving and addressing resolutions. Thus, I believe in a wellness model that helps my clients empower themselves by focusing on what works for them and not a systematic approach that provides a generic procedure for working on a treatment. One's journey is not the same as the other. Let's talk about it.
